Recent News: When the whole of India is closed to lockdown caused by COVID-19, at the same time Tablighi Jamaat has come into the limelight. More than 2000 people gathered at Nizamuddin, Delhi and many of whom were confirmed to be corona virus-positive. People present here had arrived from different states of the country, due to which all those states have also been threatened. For this reason, the Delhi Police has registered a case under the epidemic law against those present there, including Maulana Saad, the head of Tablighi Jamaat.

What is the meaning of Tablighi, Jamaat and Markaz?

Tablighi, Jamaat and Markaz are three different words in which Tabligi means to preach the messages of Allah and Jamaat means group and Markaz means – a place to conduct meetings.

Where is the Tablighi Jamaat located?

Nizamuddin Markaz Masjid or Banglewali Masjid is a mosque located in Nizamuddin West in South Delhi, India. In the seven-story building of Markaz of Tablighi Jamaat spread over three acres, about 6 thousand people together offer prayers. About two thousand people feed daily by the Tablighi Jamaat Markaz.

Maulana Ilyas Kandhalvi formed the Tablighi Jamaat in 1927 with the aim of spreading spiritual Islam to Muslims. This is the reason why the headquarters of the Tablighi Jamaat has been established here in Nizamuddin, Delhi. Markaz’s position in Nizamuddin, Delhi is a pilgrimage centre for people associated with the Tablighi Jamaat worldwide.
